These two guys are just your “average joe.” They’re hard at work, doing something to the fire hydrant, but this shot manages to capture and convey their concentration on the task at hand.
Yes, I take a lot of pretty flower and pretty landscape pictures, but my visual upbringing is more photojournalism via Time Magazine and The New York Times (which my dad worked for).
The prettys keep my eyes moving, looking for detail and light, so that when street scenes like this occur, I’m ready for it.
