How Long Is Too Long?

“If you are not too long, I will wait here all my life.” — Oscar Wilde.

I took this photo outside the Craft Alliance in the Loop one June morning in 2009.

The petunia, of course, is long since gone, lost in the heat, lost in the cold, lost in the snow.

No one knows it was ever there but me… and you, because I captured it “on film.”

In a sense, it waited all its life for me to find it one morning in June.

How long is too long?
