Misha and I were watching “Manhunter” tonight — the 1986 film with William Petersen. (We are also currently watching the last few episodes of “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation” Season 10.)
The film “Manhunter” stars Mr. Petersen at the age of 33, according to the Internet Movie Data Base, and yes, he is quite young, almost distractingly so, at least for me.
I realized I like the older William Petersen.
I realized I like men who “look their age,” for lack of better term.
It’s reality, those lines and scars and bumps. I like the grey hairs too. They’re earned. They’re the badges of a life lived: all of the miles behind, all of the miles ahead.
“Grow old along with me! The best is yet to be, the last of life, for which the first was made….” — Robert Browning.
