Footprints in the Frost

It’s 6:23 PM. The current temperature is 94.4 degrees Fahrenheit. With the 40% humidity, it feels like 98.

Six months away, and in the midst of heat, we forget what it was like then.

Toes cold, then clammy as they warmed up in damp socks. Nose runny. Eyeglasses foggy. Cheeks and ears tingly, then red from the wind.

“No matter where you go — there you are,” said Confucius.
